GETTING A BLUE CARD: THE PGH CHRONICLE

My wife and I decided to get a blue card issued by PGH in order to avail of a good eye doctors in Sentro Optikal Jose Rizal in Philippine General Hospital. I am sharing our experience for others to be aware how to get the blue card if they decided to have one.
7:00 AM Since PGH is a government hospital, I am expecting a very long line but in that day, i.e. Wednesday it was surprisingly short. We first fall in line in the Out Patient Department (OPD) of PGH located in Padre Faura Street. The line starts moving 7:00AM. Inside the OPD building, there is a long counter where you can see NEW and RENEWAL of Blue cards signs. We again fall in line in the "New Blue Card" line. Make sure you bring a ballpen with you because you will be issued a "Patient Informattion Form"(PIS) . The said form you will submit to counter C. After just 2 minutes the staff in counter C will give you the portion of the PIS form.
8:00AM The tear-up portion we submitted to the guard of Sentro Optikal Jose Rizal Building and after 1 hour our names were called and the eye doctors started the check-up.
9:45 AM The first doctor made the initial check-up and made us read a chart. The 2nd and 3rd doctor handled the second procedure using the latest eye equipment available in PGH.
9:55 The check up was completed and the doctor gave his findings and advise for our next check-up. We did not pay a single peso. As a taxpayer, that is a welcome relief.
10:00 AM. Our blue card was issued by the Table 1 staff of the Sentro Optikal Jose Rizal Building.

0:05 AM Our journey in the PGH Bluecard ended.
Overall it was a nice experience for a taxpayer like us and we greatly appreciate the service provided by PGH.
